Our first lesson together was more of a review for all of my students that were with me last year. We are going to continue to learn about our brains and what they do for us.

Prefrontal Cortex – the boss of my brain; the wise leader

Amygdala – the emotions of my brain; the security guard
Hippocampus – the memory center of my brain; stores my memories
We also talked about some IMPORTANT rules for class lessons, home, school, sports, etc.
Respect others. GOLDEN RULE ~ treat others the way you want to be treated.
Be kind.
Listen when someone is speaking.
Ask questions when you are curious or confused.
Stay focused on your own work when the teacher is working with others.
Celebrate everyone’s accomplishments.
