CES ~ Lesson 7 - Mindful Tasting.....

Mindful Tasting
*Mindful means being aware or really thinking about something*
When I taste something I like, my BRAIN is active and ready to go; when I taste something I might not like, my BRAIN might not be very active……..I will have to WORK HARD to make sure I am paying attention, my brain is ACTIVE and ready to learn.

We shared a peppermint* lifesaver together and talked about how they think their brain may be feeling while they are enjoying this treat.
*(I have read that the scent of peppermint is supposed to stimulate the hippocampus and trigger us to wake up and pay attention!)

Things that Ms. Mazzella likes:

Pretzels
Bubble Gum
Frosting

Things that Ms. Mazzella doesn't like:

Parmesan Cheese
Garlic
Salad Dressing

We then took time to review what we have learned so far together during our lessons AND if we had time, we shared one thing they DO NOT LIKE the taste of and one thing they do LIKE the taste of.

Germ experiment...........

I did an experiment to help show the kids how quickly germs can spread from our hands to other items........and why it is so very important ...
