The Prefrontal Cortex is the 'Boss of My Brain'........it is in charge of what I think, say and do.
We have to really practice being reflective and understanding that other people might think differently, like different things, and feel differently than we do. And it is absolutely OKAY, but sometimes the way we respond or react may hurt someone's feelings. The word of the lesson was PERSPECTIVE ~ we need to STOP and THINK before we respond or react that other people might have different ideas or opinions than we do.
I asked a 2nd grade class what might happen if a classmate shared an idea and we either laughed at them or said something mean about it..........here are their answers:
1.) Their feelings might get hurt
2.) They might feel like they aren't good at it
3.) They might not want to ever share again
4.) They might feel like no one likes or understands them; they won't want to be your friend
5.) They might decide to stop doing that particular thing because they aren't good at it
*As always, their answers were insightful!!*
