Executive Functioning = the management
(principal) of my brain when THINKING!……this might include paying attention, solving problems, organizing or keeping my things together, making a plan, or doing something. The pre-frontal cortex is the boss of my brain....executive functioning lives in there!

There are 3 areas (lasers) in our brain that have to do with executive functioning:
1. Impulse Inhibition - this has to do with us being able to STOP and THINK before doing or saying things....we may lose our temper, not pay attention or just do whatever comes into our head without thinking about it
2. Working Memory - this has to do with us being able to have more than 1 thing in our brain at a time.....being able to follow several directions at once
3. Mental Flexibility - this has to do with us being able to take the things we already know and create new ideas with the information.....being able to be a problem solver
