Carol Aebersold was a big hit ~

Carol Aebersold, co-author of The Elf on the Shelf and The Birthday Tradition, spent 4 hours with us at Craddock on September 30th!  She read her most recent book to our students and then took time to sign any books that were brought in by the students.

Carol also took the time to answer questions about the writing process and writing books.  Carol and her assistant, Ashley, were very impressed with the great questions our students asked during her presentation!  Carol shared that it took 150 revisions of the Birthday Traditions book before they had it just right to be published for all of us to enjoy!

Not only were we the only school in the state of Ohio to receive the honor of her visit, but I found out today that we were chosen from 15,000 applications or requests to have her visit in 12 states.  What a very special privilege this has been for us!!!

We were also lucky enough to have Channel 19 News visit us, along with Fox 8 News. Be sure to check those stations out and the websites for the coverage!!!
Mrs. Cantelmi and her class, along with Ms. Mazzella & Mrs. Troman taking a moment for a picture with Carol!

The students were such great Craddock Citizens and asked really good questions!

Elfred is our school Scout Elf ~ he is sporting the Birthday Traditions outfit to go with the book Carol read to us!
(Elfred was named by our staff members . . . Mrs. Altman came up with the name and it was the one that received the most votes from our colleagues!)

Some students waiting patiently to get their books signed!
