Respect and Responsibility Review Lessons in some classes at Miller ~

In some classes at Miller, I am sharing a review about being respectful and responsible with our words and actions.

We started out with a nice, wrinkle-free heart and then together shared ideas on how we could hurt others. As the students shared their ideas of how we can hurt others with our words, bodies or actions, I wrinkled the heart. We then tried to flatten out the wrinkles by saying we were sorry or we were just kidding ~ it didn't work.

We discussed together that even though we say these things, it doesn't always take the wrinkles away from our hearts. We were reminded that we have to stop and think before we use our words or actions; we have to think about how it would make us feel.

One Kindergarten friend, Joey Scope, shared with his class "that it doesn't matter what you have or what you look like, what matters is what you do." I am extremely proud of his statement, as I am sure his parents and teacher will be, too!
I couldn't have said it any better than that!!!

Germ experiment...........

I did an experiment to help show the kids how quickly germs can spread from our hands to other items........and why it is so very important ...
