Our 1st grade lessons this week are 'You Get What You Get'(and you don't throw a fit)!
When I asked the kids why they don't throw fits at school but may at home, here are some of the answers I received:
1.) There are no rules at home
2.) We don't have a color system at home so I never have to move my color
3.) The rules are always changing at home
4.) Nothing happens if I am bad at home
5.) I will be embarrassed if I throw a fit at school because my friends are here, but not at home
So I gave them a challenge to not throw a fit at home and to stop & think before they react to something. I shared that I bet their parents would notice and they may even get a pat on the back for making better choices!!
