Some children may have difficulty transitioning from one activity to another. Here are some helpful hints to make the process easier for them, as well as your family:
1. Establish a consistent schedule
2. Provide visual pictures of the schedule, if necessary
3. Make sure your child understands the directions or what is expected of them
4. Allow your child to experience each activity prior to moving onto the next one
5. Provide verbal & physical cues that a transition is coming; Sing songs or chants to signal
that transitions are coming
6. Provide feedback about how they did during the transition
7. Keep it simple with the directions for the transition
