We are working on some MindSet activities together and here is a video I am sharing with my 2nd grade students:
Sometimes I don't give the kids enough credit for what they know, can handle and how they apply what we teach them. I was in a classroom yesterday and we were discussing goals and how they correlate with school or study skills . . . let me just tell you that I was blown away with the conversations being had by 2nd graders!!
The following statement was shared with me by a girl in the class that allows me to see that they really do get what we are trying to teach them: "Setting a goal and persevering means that I sometimes have to tell myself 'not just yet' when I feel like I want to give up on something."
What a beautiful way to culminate the lessons we've shared together . . . and how insightful of a 2nd grader!!!
