We are trying a meaningful and important activity in Mrs. Wilk's class this week........"Mission Possible ~ A Kindness Challenge."
Each student received an envelope with their secret mission, a special pen, a magnifying glass and the name of a classmate who they are to be secretly kind to all week. Their mission is to perform random acts of kindness like leaving them a compliment on their desk, making them a card, hanging up their coat if it has fallen onto the ground, etc.
Our hope is that it will support our mission to build community in the classrooms, while encouraging the students to be kind to one another, as well as others outside their room. The students were so excited to receive their secret mission envelopes last Friday as you can see from the photos below.......I think they were even more excited to get the little magnifying glasses, because all secret agents need one!!
While they opened their secret mission envelopes, we played the theme from Mission (IM)Possible and their excitement exploded!!!!
Once we (Mrs. Troman and I) see how this project turns out, we may introduce it to the entire school, so stay tuned!!
